Tue. 1- Raind this morning. Preaching going on at Kingston. Julius went to Cumberland river and back at 8 oclock.

Wen. 2- Raining this morning. News a float. But dont know how true it is. Julius started to the river. Julius went to the river. He come home. Got wet. Hale went to the river. All wet.

Thur. 3- Went to Kingston. Bought of Ed Page meal 40 cts coffee 50cts snuff 10cts oil 12cts. Total 1.12 1/2cts. Julius gon to the river. Me and Mary bey our selves today looks like rain. I nearer can think of the ink but will some day. Raind some. Charley Sharble a pedler hear today. Hot today.

Fri. 4- Jim Riggan and Asa hear today. Give Asa a pig. Julius went to the river. Hot today. 90 I guess at it. John Keeton went to Nashville yesterday come back to day. Frank Murphy and a notter negro had a fight on the 6:30 last night. Badley cut up so I hear. Uncle John Woodard told me about it. It may have been the eight oclock train. It was the 8 oclock mail train to Nashville.

Sat. 5- Sam Colvin and son hear this morning. John Greer gon to Sams Creek today to Eck Hooper.

Sun. 6- Raind some this morning. Benton come home today. Hubert Clark come home today but boath are going back. Hubert Crouch on Sams Creek. Ed Clark gont to Sams Creek. Benton going back to Sams Creek. Cloudey all day or part of it.

Mon. 7- Julius went to Cumberland river with a load of ties. Got wet. Hard rain today. Tom Dunns daughter very sick. Think she will die. Hot 93.

Tue. 8- Julius gon to Cumberland river. Lizey Agee baptised yesterday. She is Tom Clarks daughter. She married Williw Agee, Lish come home. Glad to see him. Riand today.

Wen. 9- Julius gon to the meeting. Lish going home. Hot 98. John Greer gone to see to get some dirt to fix the countey bridge. Seen George Clarks. Sold some hogs to Taylor. 5 for 40 dollars cash. Hot 98 today.

Thur. 10- Julius gon to the river with a load of ties. A boy hear bey the name of Williams. Run away from camp at Cragey Hope. Poor boy. He was full up with crying. 

Fri. 11- Julius gon to Nashville. No letter yet from Cullum. Ed Harris come to see us. Staid all night. Glad to see him. August the 10th 1911 the sheriff come over and arrested Bill Jones, post master at Kingston, Ed Jordan col., and Will Nesbeft. Jones and Nesbelt. Jones and Nesbett for fishing and Jordan for selling whiskey so I hear. Dont know how true it is. All people aught to bee good and obey the law.

Sat. 12- Ed Harris gon home. Paid Ed Page 30 dollars and 30 cts. Paid Harris 2 dollars in full of acount. Bought of Harris one sack meal 40 cts one sack flour 60cts coffee 50cts biniggar 50cts one twist tobaco 10 ctsmullon 15cts. Total 2.25. Paid cash. Mrs. Jene Fulgham burried to day. She was the daughter of Jo Dillingham. Jo Dillinghams first wife was the daughter of Parson Cooley. His second wife was the daughter of Winom. They are now parted and devorsed but for what cause I dont know.

Sun. 13- Cloudey this morning. Raind a little. Julius on Dog Creek. Jim Colvin come to see his mother. Julius did not go to Dog Creek today. Jim Colvin gon home.

Mon. 14- Julius gon to the river with ties. Allso Hall. Went to Kingston. Oil 15 cts tobaco 10 cts calomie 10 cts. Total 55cts. Raind a little today. Got a letter from Fran Dozier today.

Tue. 15- Julius gon to the river. Raind today. Up at 8 oclock.

Wen. 16- Tom Bell and Wilson Hooper staid all night at Hohn Greers Monday the 15th 1911. Julius gon to the river with ties. Hot today. 4 days no bodey hear. Yes Bill Greer hear yesterday. Bill Jones at John Greers today. I went to the mail box. Hot. Got Marshel Allens childrens photograph to day. 3 negroes hear today. Mary sold a setting of eggs today.

Thur. 17- Julius gon to the river. Mary washing. Clabe doing nothing. I think Jim Stover will come today. Up at 3 oclock this morning and blowed the fife to beat the band. Riand some today. Julius come home. Hot today.

Fri. 18- Raind some today. Julius gont to the friver. Ed Harris hear today. Looking for Benton to come home.

Sat. 19- Julius went to the river. Benton come home. Jack Work come to see us. Staid all night. Uncle Murpehy come up. Bought my fish baskett. I went Kingston. Bought meal 45 cts wagon greece 20 cts. Total 65 cts from Ed Page. Paid Jim Ritchardson 45 cts in full. Meat from page meat 1.35. Paid cash. Erbie Clark went to the lodge. Mrs. Clark come home yesterday from Nashville.

Sun. 20- Benton, Jack Work, Chess Taylor and wife, Cliff Butler and John Bell col. hear today. Benton gon home. I went to Clarks. Mrs. Clark not well at all. Sick.

Mon. 21- Julius gon to the river. I am still doing nothing. 5 negro woman hear to day after Butler. No letters today. 4 nearly white and one black negro woman. Claud Crouch come to see us. Sit till bed time. 10 oclock.

Tue. 22- Julius gon to river. Cool this morning. I went to Kingston. Bought of Ed Page one milon 15cts. Cut weeds. Made a latch for the garden gate. Mary can hardley walk. Working the road at Kingston today. Got a letter from Lish and wife. I think ther is more tramps ride this road than any other road in the state. But that is none of my business.

Wen. 23- Miss Sallie Hudgins hear today. Allso 3 negro women. Ed Clark hear. Julius went to river and back. I was up at Mrs. Clarks. Got a letter from E. Riggan.

Thur. 24- Going to Sams Creek. Julius gon to the river. I went to Sams Creek and back. Eat dinner at Guss Riggans. Fulton staid all ngiht. Raind today. Sallie Hudgins staid with Mary all day while I was gon.

Fri. 25- I went to Kingston. Bought of Harris coffe one dollar. Paid cash. Ed Clark bought of Mary one calf 10 dollars cash. Fulton gon home. Raind today. Julius went to Pegrams Sta. Claud Crouch come sit till bed time. Jerry Gordon got a chicken. Gift.

Sat. 26- Raining this morning. Julius at home on the bed. Julius bought one qaurter barbarcue from Hale. 1.25. I loand a negro 80cts. Raind nearly all day.

Sun. 27- Julius gon to Sams Creek. Raind this morning. A negro festral at Pegrams or quarterlty meeting. Clearing off this morning. Me and Mary bey ourselves.

Mon. 28- Went to Kingston. Bought of Ed Page meal 45cts. Paid cash. Julius gon to Sams Crek and come home. Walkup killed a negro woman so I hear today.

Tue. 29- Went to Kingston. Bought of Moore rubbers 10 cts, soap 5cts cash. Cut grass and weeds yesterday. Jube Bell a negro dead last Saturday so I hear. Julius squirel hunting. Cool wind from the north. Raind some this morning. All most snow or seams so.

Wen. 30- George Reed paid me one hundred and fortey three dollars and 10cts today. Bought of Ed Page snuff 10cts. Julius gon hunting.

Thur. 31- Julius gon hunting. Bill Greer hear today. I cut some corn. Ed Clark hear this morning. A hawk caught a sqrill to day. Well I must feed. I am lazey and nothing sort of a man. Dont earn my salt. Will wait till night. Mabey some of the boys will come home to see us but I dont know. Mumps on Sams Creek. Julius killed 6 squarels yesterday. So this is the end of August 1911.
