Fri. 1- Clear this morning and cool. Julius son to Hales. Well I will try the pen and ink. Knoll give me a battle of ink this morning. Julius gon hunting. Clabe getting stove wood but still I must go if I am young and stout. Mary is just as prettie as she can be and Clabe just as ugley. Got a letter from E. E. Riggan this morning. His wife no better. She is bound to die soone. Poore boy. I feel sorry for him. Julius killed 5 squarels today.
Sat. 2- Julius gon to Kingston. Jim Woods died the first of September 1911. Prettie clear morning and hot. Got stove wood and quit. Benton come home. I went to the lodge. 20 cts. Got home half after 11 oclock at night. Found all a sleep. C. S. Hooper
Sun. 3- Benton gon to Kingston him and Bil Greer. Julius gon to Sams creek. Dufey Butter come in yesterday morning. Jim Colvin and wife and child Sam olvin wife and children and Puss Colvin, Bill Greer, Bent Hooper hear today. Julius did not go to Sams creek today. Hot.
Mon. 4- Went to Kingston. Bought of Ed Page meal and flour 1.05 cts. Bill, Benton and Julius went to Sams creek and back.
Tue. 5- Benton gon to Kingston. Julius going to hall. Clabe going to cut corn. Cut corn till noon. Raind. Julius halled. He got wet. Got home at eight oclck at night.
Wen. 6- Went to Kingston. Bought of Ed Page meat 2.50. Zeak Hale got his arm broke today so I hear. Seen Burnett. Julius cutting ties for BIll Greer. Hot today. The train killed a cow for John Henry one day lst weak. So I hear. Sam Colvins wife hear today and 2 negroes.
Thur. 7- Julius halling. Benton cutting ties. Clabe doing nothing. Well I must go to work cutting corn. Mary sweeping the house. The negro woman had a fight at Pegrams sta. so I hear. yesterday. But dont know how true it is. Greer bailing hay today. Mary washing. Clabe cutting cron. A negro hear to day. Jon Greer gon to Kingston today.
Fri. 8- Julius halling. Benton cutting ties. I went to Kingston. Bought coffee 50cts snuff 10 cts taboacco 20cts oil 12 1/2cts soap 10cts.
Sat. 9- Went to Kingston. Shave 10cts whip 5cts bottle 5cts/ Total 20cts. Paid cash. Julius went to river. He got wet. Raind hard.
Sun. 10- At home. No bodey hear so fair today. Julius out. Raind hard hear this eavening. Charlie Hale hear to day.
Mon. 11- Julius on Sams Creek. I went to Kingsotn. Bought of Ed Page meal 45cts rubbers 5cts. Total 50cts. Benton makeing ties for Bill Greer. Black day. Charley yesterday. Claud Crouch staid all night. Julius did not go to Sams Creek.
Tue. 12- Hot. Crouch gon home. Benton at work. Julius working the road at the head of Sams Creek. Went to Taylors store. Got up a part of my hogs.
Wen. 13- Benton at work. Julius on the orad. I went to Taylors. One horse bruch 20cts. Must go to work. Mary Wake man died Monday September the 10th 1911. She first married Bill Scott then Wakeman. She was the daughter of James Winn. She was burried at the Scott graveyard in the 10th district of Cheatham County. Seen Si Thornton today up at Mrs. Clarks, Hot today. Mule sick. Wes Mangrum died today so I hear.
Thur. 14- Mule no better. I think he will die. I beleave some one has give him cut glass. Powderd. Paid Dr. Bell 15 dollars. Sent 5 dollars to Doney. Total 20 dollars and 25cts. Bell hear. Martain hear today.
Fri. 15- Hot, Mule better but bad off yet. I went to Kingston and Pegrams Sta yesterday. I went to Kingston and Pegrams today. Oil 12cts, Paid cash. Went to mailbox. Got a letter from Doney today.
Sat. 16- Julius going to Kignston. Mule no better. Some bodey yesterday but I dont know hoo it si. 2 men all night at Clarks. Fruit aggents.
Sun. 17- Went to meet a man but he did not come. 2 men at Clarks. Mule better. Julius gon to sams Crek. Sallie Hudgins and Jeff coem staid all night. Hale killed a mad dog. Bit Jess Hales pigs so I hear.
Mon. 18- Went to Kingston. Bought of Ed Page coffee 1.00 dollar vinniger 40cts. Paid cash for vinniger. Total 1.40cts. Went to Pegrams. Bought of Charley King Catrridges 20cts. Sallie gon home. Seen Grayand wife. Julius come home. Brout a bag of beans. Jim Olsborn at wife at Clarks. Hogs out.
Tue. 19- Dont know what I dun but gathered some moss. Hot 98. Got hay from Sam Gordan. Julius at home.
Wen. 20- Julius gon to Sams Creek. Fulton stiad all night. Bought of Ed Page meal 45cts oil 10cts tobaco 10cts oil 25cts. Total 90cts. Hot today 92.It has been the hottest September up till today that I eaver seen and I am 66 years old. Bentonmakeing ties for Bill Greer.
Thur. 21- Raind this morning. Fulton gon home. Benton not well. Julius gon to Clarks. Turning cooler this morning. Well I must go and hunt my hog and finish to night. Fair going on at Nashville. Big Crouds up ther.
Fri. 22- At home all day. Benton gon to Sams Creek. Sam Colvin hear today. Julius at home.
Sat. 23- Went to Kingston. Come home. Julius at home.
Sun. 24- John Rustey and Mintey and Ann Hooper and son and Dick Hooper come over and staid all day.
Mon. 25- Went to Sams Creek and back. Was at Jim Hoopers.
Tue. 26- Went to Kingston. Sent a letter to Doney. Bought of Ed Page box of paper 10cts. Benton come home Monday. James Davis killed bey a street car in West Nashville Thursday September the 25th 1911 so I hear. A miss Green died Monday September the 25th 1911 and was burried today so I hear. She left a babey. Julius went to Sams Creek Sunday and back. John Vick died Sunday September the 24th 1911. He was a good boy or a young man. Sorry to hear of his death. He was a good fried of mine and I thought a heap of him.
Wen. 27- Julius plowing for Hale. Mule better. Think he will get well. A. Gordan negro hear today.
Thur. 28- Mary washed. Benton helpte Clarks. Julius plowed for Hale. The sheriff hear today. Ula Oakley fild a bill in Gibson countey to sell the old home place on Sams Crek in the 9th Civel Disstrict of Cheatham Countey Tennessee. She emploid 3 lawyers to do the same and taken the pauppers oath her and her husband and fild a bill of injunston aganst James Riggan her brother to stop him from cutting the tibmer on said land or remoeving te sam.e Tom Dunn arested today. Me and Lee Dunn 35 cts for potatoes. Ed Page the same 35cts.
Fri. 29- Lish come home. Staid 6 hors. Bought of Ed Page 17 yards goods. Went with Lish to Kingston. Raind.
Sat. 30- Went to Kingston Springs. Bought of Ed Page meat 15 1/2 lbs. Raind today.
